Box-Office Report: Here’s how Golmaal Again & Secret Superstar fared!

Bollywood witnessed a clash of two big films at the box-office this Diwali. Aamir Khan Productions’ Secret Superstar and Rohit Shetty ’s Golmaal Again released on October 19 and 20 respectively and parted the viewers into groups. Clashes never work well no matter how different the genres of the competing movies are! Box-office collection of both the movies are affected at some level although, in this case, Golmaal Again is far ahead in the race.

Golmaal Again made Rs. 30.14 crores on Friday, Rs. 28.37 crores on Saturday and Rs. 29.09 crores on Sunday. The movie further made Rs. 16.04 on Monday and Rs. 13.25 crores on Tuesday. Hence the total collection stands at Rs. 116.89 crores at the domestic markets. The comedy-drama with a horror twist is performing well even at the international circuits. Golmaal Again made $ 3.91 million i.e. Rs. 25.47 crores overseas.

Secret Superstar made Rs. 4.80 crores on Thursday, its opening day. And, the biz almost doubled on its second day, on Friday to Rs. 9.30 crores. The film further made Rs. 8.71 crores on Saturday and 8.50 crores on Sunday. The film made Rs. 3.05 crores on Monday and Rs. 2.50 crores on Tuesday. Hence, the total four days collection stands at Rs. 36.86 crores at the domestic front.

Golmaal Again has an ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn , Parineeti Chopra , Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu, Tabu , Neil Nitin Mukesh, Johny Lever among others. And, Secret Superstar features Aamir Khan , Meher Vij and Zaira Wasim in key roles. Aamir’s film is an emotional story of a teenage girl and her dreams while Rohit Shetty ’s film is the fourth successful franchise of the comedy Golmaal series.
