Dangal crossed 1100 crores milestone in the overseas market this week!

This year with last year’s box office storm Dangal reached a never seen before milestone in Bollywood! Though it already set benchmarks to the roof with its box office performance in Indian market alone and now it is even making history in the Chinese market.

Dangal released in China on 5th May as title Shuai Jiao Baba, which translates as ‘Let's Wrestle, Dad.’ As per updated trade reports suggests, Dangal became first in Indian film to crossover $200 million marks at the overseas market, with the collective business of 1100 crores rupees alone from Chinese market! This figure further adds up to the total of 1879.70 crores conjoining collection of domestic and international markets and the film is still going on in the Chinese market.

Not only in Indian audience but even Chinese masses also connected with the story of a determined man in pursuit to make his daughters the professional athletes. It also gives a good sign that Indian films now got themselves a new market and opportunities to tackle.

In terms of responses, even its actor Aamir Khan also quoted, “Not in our wildest dreams we thought that this is the kind of connect we would have. It was unprecedented. We are pleasantly surprised!” Although, it wasn’t the first time he tackled Chinese market, as previously Aamir’s PK, Dhoom 3 and 3 Idiots were released, which have made a positive brand to the audience, in terms of business they stand nowhere close to what Dangal earned.
