Golmaal Again 1st-weekend box-office; Rohit Shetty expresses gratitude!

Rohit Shetty ’s franchise film Golmaal Again has been released and is performing extremely well at the box-office. The film is a horror-comedy and has been receiving rave reviews from the audience as well as the critics. Released during the long Diwali weekend, the film managed to rake in a great collection for itself. Bollywood has been facing a tough phase but this film has successfully brought back the movie lovers in theatres in flourishing numbers.

The movie made Rs. 30.14 crores on Friday, Rs. 28.37 crores on Saturday and Rs. 29.09 crores on Sunday. Hence the total collection stands at Rs. 87.60 crores in just three days at the domestic markets. The comedy-drama with a horror twist is performing well even at the international circuits. Golmaal Again made $ 3.17 million i.e. Rs. 20.62 crores overseas.

In a recent media interaction, when director Rohit Shetty was asked about the success of the film he said, “It’s a great feeling. You die and wait for this day. It’s actually a feeling I can’t express.”

He added, “I would just say thank you to the audience. Filmein toh sab banate hai. Humne bhi banayi. Sab ne mehnat ki hai. The credit goes to everyone – from actors to technicians. It’s not just my film after all. Yeh hum sabki film hai.”

“The entire film industry is happy with the kind of response generated by Golmaal Again,” Shetty added further.
