Check out the first Tuesday box-office collection of Sonakshi Sinha, Akshaye Khanna, and Siddharth Malhotra’s Ittefaq.
Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Productions have come together to revive Late Yash Chopra’s Ittefaq from 1969. The new remake film Ittefaq stars Sonakshi Sinha, Akshaye Khanna and Siddharth Malhotra in the lead. The original essence of the film has been taken forward in the new film but the story has been twisted for modern times. The film which falls under a niche genre of murder mystery has received a positive response from the audience as well as the critics.
The film made Rs. 4.05 crores on its opening day, it further raked in Rs. 5.50 crores on Saturday, and Rs. 6.50 crores on Sunday. The film passed the Monday test by making Rs. 2.25 crores, it added Rs. 2 crores more to its kitty on Tuesday. Hence, the total collection stands at Rs. 20.30 crores at the domestic front. It is competing with Kalki Koechlin, Sumeet Vyas’s film Ribbon that also released on the same day.
The movie is about a high profile double murder case involving two prime suspects who have very different stories to tell. The pro cop has to unfold the truth. The story is for a niche audience and has an intriguing plot. The thriller is directed by Abhay Chopra, and the suspense is truly kept intact. The thriller is a refreshing watch amidst the conventional Bollywood films.
