Ittefaq witnesses growth during the 1st weekend at the box-office!

Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Productions collaborated for the latest release Ittefaq starring Sonakshi Sinha , Akshaye Khanna , and Siddharth Malhotra . The movie is an official remake of 1969 film of the same name, directed by late Yash Chopra. But, the story has been adapted to today’s times and just the essence of the original film is carried in the new one. Critics have positive things to say about the film while audience response has also been positive overall.
The film made Rs. 4.05 crores on its opening day at the domestic box-office. It further raked in Rs. 5.50 crores on Saturday, and Rs. 6.50 crores on Sunday. Hence, the total collection stands at Rs. 16.05 crores at the domestic front. It is competing with Kalki Koechlin, Sumeet Vyas’s film Ribbon that also released on the same day.
Ittefaq is not a mass entertainment film but is meant for a niche audience. The makers are not expecting it to be a money spinner but a good content film that will find its audience. Since the budget is tight, the film may soon enter the profit zone if it does remain stable during the weekdays. The thriller is directed by Abhay Chopra, it once again marks the collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar as producers.
