Rakesh Omprakash Mehra’s directorial film Mirzya features debutants Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher in the lead. The movie made Rs. 2.20 crores on Friday, Rs. 2.10 crores on Saturday and Rs. 2.20 crores on Sunday. Hence, the total first weekend collection stands at Rs. 6.50 crores at the box-office. The film received mixed reviews from the audience as well as the critics.
Mirzya was promoted well and was expected to open with better numbers. The story is for a niche audience and does not have a mass appeal. The movie should stay consistent during the week days so as to generate a decent total.
