Remember Vasuli in Golmaal (2006)? That's Mukesh Tiwari at his funniest best!

Starting his acting career with China Gate (1998) Mukesh has come a long way indeed. He has acted in several big banner films as well as small unknown films. These are some of the better-known films that he has been associated with:

Refugee (2000). The film marked the debuts of Kareena Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan.

Ghaath (2000). The film deals with politics, corruption, crime, underworld etc.

In Farz (2001) he plays Sikandar, a terrorist. The film beside stars Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta and Jackie Shroff.

In Rajkumar Santoshi's The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002) he played the role of a jailer.

Prakash Jha's Gangaajal (2003), about cops and corruption in Bihar, was a film well received by all: the masses, the elite and the media. It is remembered for its powerful performances and brilliant dialogues. This film saw Mukesh in the avatar of Bachcha Yadav, a cop who is related to the local baddie; but unlike his family he is not corrupt. This role brought Mukesh in the public's eye.

After playing a good guy, Mukesh played a Pakistani terrorist, Baba Zaheer Khan, in Zameen (2003). Even with a huge star cast his role was not diminished.

He played a small part in Ketan Mehta's The Rising: Ballad of Mangal Pandey (2005).

Mukesh worked in another Prakash Jha film, Apharan (2005) as a cop. It was loved by the critics and won awards as well.

In Golmaal (2006) Mukesh essayed the role which made him a household name: Vasuli. As a small-time goon who idolizes Sanjay Dutt, he had the audience in splits every time he appeared on screen.

Sunday (2008) saw Mukesh in another comic role, small but well done.

In One Two Three (2008) he played a dimwitted Don, D'Mello, referred to as "Papa". The film was slapstick, and his role was perhaps the best of the lot.

After the success of Golmaal came its sequel Golmaal Returns (2008), and it would have been incomplete without Vasuli. Mukesh played the character once more, and though the film didn't run to packed houses his role was definitely appreciated.

Mukesh has beside worked in 2 hit Tamil films: Pokkiri (2007) and Kanthaswamy (2009).

This year has not quite picked up for him yet, but he has a few films lined up for release in the next few months.

All the Best: Fun Begins is another comedy by Rohit Shetty (he made Golmaal). Mukesh is in it, as are Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu, Ajay Devgn, Fardeen Khan etc. He is beside working on an animated film titled Toonpur ka Superhero.
