Shubhangi Atre Poorey

Q. Tells us something about your growing up years and how you got up with an idea for acting?

A. It was my father who always motivated me and inspired me to explore the world and dream to fly high. Acting was not really a dream. It was never planned. It just happened and as my father taught me to never give up on things coming your way, I took it up and today I feel proud of myself.

Q. If I’m not wrong, you started your career with Ekta Kapoor. How is your equation with her now?

A. Yes, she is really a kind human being. I have always loved her. She can be role model for any girl.

Q. What was your first role as an actress?

A. Kasturi...

Q. How has been the audience’s response towards your character Angoori Bhabhi in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai?

A. Initially, I was doubtful whether or not the audience will accept me. But thankfully people are loving me in the role of Angoori bhabhi.

Q. What do you love about this character a lot?

A. The character is really full of fun. I love the character because it reflects the innocence, beauty and fun side of Indian women.

Q. What’s the biggest challenge about taking on this role?

A. For me any role is challenging. For every role, we need to work hard and bring the character that our creatives want, but yes this one was played earlier by someone. So, it was a bit more challenging.

Q. Besides yourself, what actress would you like to see tackle this character?

A. I really haven’t thought about it. I feel every actress has their own talent and style. So everyone tries their best to work on any character given them to play. It’s about audiences whom they want to see.

Q. Who’s the funniest person in the cast in real life?

A. Everyone has their own way of enjoying. We all are like family and enjoy each other’s company.

Q. If you had a magic wand, what show would you do next?

A. I'm very much blessed with the ongoing show. So, I will make it more long-running.

Q. Which has been the hardest role you have ever played, and why?

A. I have never done any comic role before. So, bhabhiji is a little bit hard among others.

A. People have always approached me for lead roles. I am happy about it.

Q. When you have a five-minute break during rehearsal, what do you spend that time doing?

A. Checking my mobile or getting ready for next scene or shot. Sometimes, I have snacks or talk to media. I can’t say anything specific.

Q. If not an actress, what profession would you choose to occupy?

A. I'm loving what I'm (Laughs...)

Q. Who do you look up to as an actress?

A. I enjoy being myself. I hold on to my level of energy.

Q. Is it true that you have to change yourself in order to be accepted into the entertainment business?

A. Not at all! I don’t remember any such incident.

A. Family

Q. On what do you spend the most: clothes, accessories, perfumes, food, or anything else?

Q. Describe yourself in a single line?

A. Learner

Q. What is some advice that you would give to someone aspiring to become an actor?
