Singers Mika Singh and Shaan make their acting debuts with Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya. This brainless romp is a text-book garden-variety comedy. You've seen every scene in this film about a dozen times before in several comedies over the years. The only respite you get from the same old, same old is Mika and Shaan's efforts at acting. They're not very good but they're not half as bad as some of our more established performers usually parading under the veil of comedians. Full marks for the effort to both singing sensations. If only they'd chosen another film. And not this humdrum, double-entendre ridden comedy.

Six men dress up as girls, stuff their tops with tennis balls (and oranges) and steal them from each other in the climax of Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya. Enough said. Review: To make things more complicated, a millionaire (Anupam Kher) has been looking for his long-lost grandson, called Balwinder, who happens to be the sole heir to his property. It comes as no surprise that our protagonists, Balwinder from Patiala (Shaan) and Balwinder from Ludhiana (Mika) for obvious reasons, rise to the occasion and claim to be the missing grandson. But who's telling the truth?

Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya is too silly to regale
Small mercies for both Mika and Shaan, they were already famous before this accident (they're calling it a film) happened in their lives. If this had been their first shot at showbiz, the professional fates of both these popular singers would have taken an early plunge.

Clearly, reaching the very pinnacle of their profession doesn't seem to be enough for our superstar singers. Quick on the heels of Xpose's Himesh Reshammiya and Yo Yo Honey Singh, Mika Singh joins forces with Shaan (who retains the most pleasant face) to bring us a slapstick comedy that would be funny if you're still a fan of Akshay Kumar and Sajid Khan.
