Ajay Devgn To Essay An Income Tax Officer In Raid!

Bollywood’s one of the most loved actor Ajay Devgn who is currently busy with Rohit Shetty ’s laugh riot Golmaal Again , is set to flaunt his serious side! According to the latest report, Devgn is gearing up to play the role of an Income Tax Officer in Raj Kumar Gupta ’s upcoming film Raid. The film revolves around a tough Income Tax officer from UP and it is said to be based on some real-life incidents. Ajay is one such actor who can portray varied roles with ease. He becomes Singham in no time and can make us laugh in the Golmaal series effortlessly! His action avatar also is much appreciated in Shivaay and now, it will be interesting to see him in a new avatar for the forthcoming movie which will start from September, reportedly.

In a statement published on Indian Express , Raj Kumar Gupta said, “Raid is a story that needs to be told on the big screen. I am looking forward to my collaboration with Ajay sir, Bhushanji, Kumarji and Abhishek on this film.”

Producer Bhushan Kumar also added, “Ajay Devgn is a great actor. We have produced Baadshaho and are now happy to be also producing Raid. Raid is a content driven film and we are excited to produce it.”

Set at the backdrop of 1980s, Raid has been produced by Kumar Mangat and Bhushan Kumar. The script is written by Ritesh Shah, who has previously worked on films like Pink and Airlift. Also, Raj Kumar Gupta is directing the film who has previously directed 2011 hit No One Killed Jessica and Rajeev Khandelwal’s Aamir. Hence, the expectation from this content driven film is huge. Apart from Raid, Ajay will also be seen in Baadshaho which is helmed by Milan Luthria and Rohit Shetty ’s Golmaal Again .
