Ajay Devgn to play Taanaji in the biopic on Subedar Taanaji Malusare!
Ajay Devgn has signed a new biopic titled Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior. To be directed by Om Raut, the biopic will be co-produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

Biopics are in vogue in Bollywood and the next actor who has announced his next biopic is the very versatile Ajay Devgn . Yes, the National Award winning actor and filmmaker has just signed a biopic where he will be seen in the role of Subedar Taanaji Malusare who went all out to protect his people and kingdom of Chhatrapati Shivaji. The film has been titled Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior and will be directed by Om Raut who has previously helmed Lokmanya Ek Yugpurush (2015), the Marathi biopic on Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
Before releasing the first poster of the film on Twitter, Ajay wrote: "Can't wait to share with you'll something very exciting that we have been working on lately! Out at midnight!". The actor finally revealed the first poster at the stroke of midnight and wrote: "He fought for his People, his Soil & his King Chhatrapati Shivaji. The unsung warrior of glorious Indian history, Subedar Taanaji Malusare.”
The first look of the film, featuring Ajay Devgn , looks extraordinary and has been garnering a lot of eyeballs ever since Ajay rolled out the teaser on the social media platform. The Viacom18 Motion Pictures co-production will hit screens in 2019.
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is busy promoting his next film Baadshaho , also featuring Emraan Hashmi , Ileana D'Cruz , Esha Gupta , Sanjay Mishra and Vidyut Jamwal . The film is releasing on 1st September 2017.
