Akshay Kumar: For me, Housefull 4 is like a reunion of old friends.

It's been 2 years that Akshay Kumar has not done an out and out comedy film. Two years may not sound a long time but when an actor does 4 films in a single year, 24 months really feels like a long gap. Since 2016, Akshay has been doing action and social message-driven films but now, with Housefull 4 , the actor is back with the genre which suits him the most i.e. comedy. Khiladi Kumar is really excited to work with the team of Housefull and feels the fourth installment is going to be a three-month vacation.

Talking about starring in Housefull 4 , Akshay revealed to a leading tabloid, "It's been a while since I have done a full-on comedy film. It's a genre that I really enjoy working in. I am looking forward to that film. Housefull 4 is going to be like a three-month vacation. For me, it's like a reunion of old friends."

Akshay also got candid about how he does not want to limit himself to a particular genre. "I don't want the media to typecast me. Earlier, I was trapped with the image of an action hero. I couldn't experiment as they [the audience] wouldn't accept me in a different avatar. That phase of my career impacted me deeply. That's why I constantly change the kind of films I do," Akshay stated.

As Akshay and Riteish Deshmukh are already a part of Housefull 4 , it is reported that Abhishek Bachchan is also retained from the last installment. And when it comes to the leading ladies, Parineeti Chopra , Disha Patani and Kiara Advani are going to be a part of the film, according to a leading tabloid.
