Akshay Kumar partners with CAYA for #24Hours24Toilets Campaign!

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar are gearing up for the release of their upcoming film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha . The movie talks about the issue of improper sanitation and open defecation in the country. Akshay and team carried out several social projects in the direction of improving the situation while promoting the film. Now, the latest initiative that Akshay Kumar and the team have taken is that they have partnered with CAYA and unveiled a campaign titled ’24 toilets over 24 hours.’

The team will come together and set up 24 toilets in the span of 24 hours. This initiative will help smaller cities and villages in Jaipur, Kota, Delhi, Mohali, Rewri, Karnal, Panipat, Yamuna Nagar, Narnaul, and Gurgaon. The message is to improve the sanitation problem of the people providing them basic toilet facilities. This indeed is a very crucial step by the makers of the film.

“Toilets can be a taboo subject, but it’s such an important part of everyday life that many of us take for granted. This campaign is a small but hopefully an impactful contribution from our team towards giving the people in these cities a much-needed resource and making sanitation a part of their conversations in a positive manner. We hope that through the movie, and this campaign, we can bring more awareness to such an important issue,” Akshay Kumar stated in a media statement.

Rudraup Datta, Marketing Head, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures also commented about the association and said, “Cinema is an agent of social change and we have a complete family entertainer that highlights a big issue faced by our country: open defecation. Thanks to Akshay, we have been able to implement this campaign.”

The film is directed by Shree Narayan Singh and has been presented by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, KriArj Entertainment, Plan C Studios. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has been scheduled to release on August 11, 2017!
