Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha online leak is under control now!

Lately, the threat of piracy for the new and upcoming films has increased manifolds. After the tragic incident with Udta Punjab film leak, filmmakers have been extra cautious about their film security. But, once again an online leak of a film like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha shocked the industry. However, since the news reached the right authorities promptly things could be taken under control swiftly.

Filmmaker Remo D’Souza first encountered the leak and contacted the makers. He said, "I met someone who told me that he already has the movie (Toilet: Ek Prem Katha) on his pen drive. Initially, I didn't believe him, but he seemed serious, and told me to check that for myself. When I checked the pen drive, it contained Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, and I was shocked."

He added, "I first called Akshay sir, but since he was in London, he was unavailable. Then I called up Prerna Arora, the producer, told her about the situation, Director Shree Narayan Singh came and collected the pen drive from me. They will be taking legal action against piracy, and I will talk to Akshay sir once he is back."

Akshay Kumar tweeted reassuring that the situation is under control now:

The film has created a lot of buzz and the quirky posters and its intriguing trailer has become the talk of the town. The film highlights the sanitation and hygiene issue in the country. Akshay Kumar has promoted the film far and wide and also built Toilets in the rural areas as a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. He met PM Narendra Modi and other leaders regarding the film and linked it to the campaign. The leak was unfortunate but has been swiftly taken under control which is indeed great on the part of the authorities.

Prerna Aroraa from KriArj Entertainment released an official statement. It reads:

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has been directed by Shree Narayan Singh and also stars Bhumi Pednekar as the female lead. It is all set to release on August 11, 2017.
