Jagga Jasoos starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif was in the making for over three years. The effort, hard work, and patience required for this project along with the finances involved are huge! The movie, as it is known to one and all, has been delayed quite a lot and the special effects used costs a bomb. It was touted as India’s first fantasy film but the execution fell flat somewhere despite the sincere effort by the team.
Though the box-office failure was very graciously taken by Ranbir, Katrina, Basu, and others, it did not go down well with Ranbir’s father-veteran star Rishi Kapoor . Sr Kapoor is often seen expressing opinions about things and people rather explicitly. He in a way attacked Basu with his harsh words and blamed him for the loss and the failure. Ranbir who had turned producer for the movie faced a setback financially, as per the reports. BollywoodMDB updated the readers about Rishi Kapoor’s repeated attacks on the filmmaker.
Basu, however, chose to keep calm and did not let the negativity affect him. After much speculation, the filmmaker finally opened up about the entire issue. Anurag Basu is very cool about the statements and he jokingly quipped at the launch of Super Dancer 2 that now at least people know that Anurag Basu and Anurag Kashyap are two different people! He further said that Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan loved Jagga Jasoos and that he has no issues with the mixed reactions of the audience.
