After doing some back to back action movies, megastar Salman Khan will now do a period drama, ‘ Bharat ’. As we know that his life will span over 70 years in the film, so for the first time he will use prosthetics to get the perfect look. Ali Abbas Zafar who will helm this film says the film will have significant moments from the pre and post partition of India and will also have many historical references.

Talking about the same with a leading daily, Ali revealed, "Since the story spans over a period of 70 years, there will be many historical references. It is essentially about a man who lives through several significant moments from India’s past to present. We are currently working on the film’s pre-production and details will be announced once we are in a position to talk about them."

Speaking more in detail about the Partition scenes, the filmmaker continued, "The Partition sequences will be shot in Punjab, keeping in mind the minute details which have been researched over the last three months. Original steam engines will be used for this shoot along with art, costumes, and nuances, which will give the feel of that era."

As it is clear that the film’s story is out and out based on the backdrops of Indian events, its shooting will be done in major locations like Abu Dhabi, Spain, Punjab and Delhi.

The movie is an adaptation of a South Korean movie, ‘Ode To My Father’ and Salman’s brother-in-law has officially brought the rights to make the film. The third collaboration between Salman and Ali Abbas will go on floors from June this year and it is scheduled to release on Eid 2019.
