Brahmastra goes on floors. A new journey begins for the Ayan Mukherji and team!

After Sanjay Dutt ’s biopic, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in the one of the most-awaited fantasy dramas of Bollywood, i.e. Brahmastra . The film will be helmed by Ranbir’s best buddy, Ayan Mukherji and it will star Alia Bhatt opposite him for the first time. Ranbir, Alia and Ayan are in snowy Bulgaria for a few weeks now and were prepping up for the upcoming film. But today, the highly anticipated film has finally gone on floors. The film is being made under the banner of Karan Johar ’s Dharma Productions and they revealed the big news on Twitter, captioning, “Today is the day when we embark on our new journey & we can't wait to unfold every step with you! There's no holding back the excitement for this one, so keep sending in your love for #AyanMukerji & team! #Brahmástra @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 @SrBachchan #RanbirKapoor @aliaa08”

The film also stars megastar Amitabh Bachchan and he will join the team once he wraps up Thugs Of Hindostan .

When a leading daily asked Ranbir, whether Brahmastra is a superhero kind of film? The actor said, "Well, it’s not really a superhero film because the word ‘superhero’ comes with a preconceived notion about it. The film is, as Ayan puts it, ‘a magical romantic fairy tale set in contemporary times.’ It’s got a great cast too with Alia Bhatt and Amitji ( Amitabh Bachchan ) in the film. Other superb actors are also being cast in it. It’s a film that has been written in a trilogy format so there will be three parts, which Ayan will make over a period of eight years. It’s also very exciting and risky at the same time because it’s something that has never been tried before.”

The film will be made on a lavish budget and will be released in 2019.
