Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Soorma’ to get postponed to avoid a clash with Dutt’s biopic?
As Dutt’s biopic shifted from 30th March to 29th June, the makers of Diljit Dosanjh starrer ‘Soorma’ are planning to postpone their film.
The makers of Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Soorma’ have finished shooting the film in December 2017 itself and now the movie is in post-production stage. The release date of the same was decided months ago and was scheduled to release on 29th June. But looks like Shaad Ali, the director of the film, is planning to postpone its release date as Rajkumar Hirani’s film (Sanjay Dutt’s biopic) is also releasing on the same date. Initially, Dutt’s biopic was scheduled to release on 30th March, but the film is still not completed and is taking time in the post-production, leaving the makers in no other option than pushing the film to 29th June and that’s final. ‘Soorma’ being made on a small budget will have to face consequences if gets released with Hirani’s film, so its makers are planning for a suitable further date.
The year 2018 is undoubtedly the year of clashes and after ‘Padmaavat’ pushed its release date; it has created the domino effect in the entire B-town, where every other film is being pushed to avoid the big clash.
Soorma is about the life of famous hockey player Sandeep Singh. Diljit Dosanjh plays the coveted lead role while Angad Bedi essays the role of Sandeep’s brother Bikramjeet Singh. Taapsee Pannu also features in this flick that is produced by Chitrangda Singh and directed by Shaad Ali.
Though ‘Soorma’ getting postponed has not yet been confirmed by the officials, the current scenario and insiders say that it surely will.
