Ekta Kapoor and Shree Narayan Singh to bring the life story of ‘Milkman Of India’ on the Silver screen!

We all know that for the last few decades, India is the world’s largest producer of milk. But now, it’s the time to know the man behind this mega revolution. It’s Dr. Verghese Kurien, who is known as the ‘Milkman Of India’ and ‘Father of White Revolution’, for making India the world’s largest producer of milk from a milk deficiency nation. The Padma Vibhushan awardee died 6 years ago but now, Ekta Kapoor has joined hands with Shree Narayan Singh to show the life story of the revolutionary man on the Silver screen.

Ekta herself revealed the news on Twitter, captioning, “A story that needs to be told! Proud to bring Dr. Verghese Kurian’s Operation Flood to the big screen with @ToiletTheFilm director @ShreeNSingh.”

The social drama is backed by Ekta Kapoor ’s Balaji Motion Pictures. It has acquired the film rights for the book “I Too Had A Dream”, which chronicles the life of Kurien, who dedicated his life to shaping up India’s milk industry, a statement said.

Talking about this noble film and her collaboration with Shree Narayan, Ekta gave a statement to a portal, “Balaji has always strived to bring interesting stories on screen, and the story of Dr. Verghese Kurien is not only engaging but extremely inspiring too. I am delighted to collaborate with Shree Narayan Singh to tell the story of a true visionary.”

Shree Narayan is busy with his next project, ‘ Batti Gul Meter Chalu ’ with Shahid Kapoor , once he finishes his on-going film, he will then head the biopic of late Dr. Verghese Kurien.
