Father Javed Akhtar feels ‘Gully Boy’ is going to be Zoya Akhtar’s best film!
Javed Akhtar, who will pen down the lyrics for ‘Gully Boy’, feels this is going to be Zoya's best film.
Zoya Akhtar surely knows to depict the modern lifestyle through her films. Till date, all her ventures are successful and mostly youth-centric. The talented filmmaker is now making a film, ‘Gully Boy’, which is based on the lives of two underground rappers (Divine and Naezy) of the Mumbai city. Zoya has been working on the script for more than a year now and the lyrics of the film are being written by her father, Javed Akhtar. Javed feels that the movie will turn out as her daughter's best work. Speaking to a leading daily, the lyricist said, "Gully Boy is going to be an exceptional film. I can say, this is going to be Zoya's best film till date. I am intrigued by it."
Javed Akhtar is in the industry for around 5 decades now and has written scripts for some of the most successful films in the Indian cinema. Expressing about his work, Javed said, "As a screenwriter, if someone has a story I like, I will write the screenplay and dialogues. If the person doesn't have a story, I will offer a story too. If the film has any vulgarity, obscenity or crude situation, where I am expected to write a song that may imply something else, I won't take it up."
