Here’s all you want to know about Akshay Kumar’s Gold!

BollywoodMDB reported our readers regarding Akshay Kumar ’s upcoming film Gold . The film also stars Kunal Kapoor , Amit Sadh and Sunny Kaushal among others in key roles. The film revolves around series of events happened during 1948 Olympics and how India won its 1st Gold medal in hockey as a free nation Olympics that year. It is a fictional take on the journey of 12 years of Indian sports during the era. Hence, all the actors are well preparing for their roles. The schedule was supposed to begin in July with Akshay and other stars had already begun the preparations one-month prior.

A source revealed, “Akshay needn’t have learnt hockey. He is sporty by nature. Also, he won’t be shown so much on the field. This is not going to be so much about the game of hockey itself like Chak De India was. It is going to be about what went on behind the scenes, how Akshay as the captain of the team prepared the team to the spectacular victory.”

Sources also stated that Akshay being the champ he is, wants to use his body language in a way that spotlights the character’s progress without external props. By now, the actor has played real-life characters in Airlift and Rustom but he didn’t need to transform physically until now for this role. So, it will be interesting to see the efforts put in on his part. The team has conducted auditions to select the actors to essay the roles of international players in the film. Also, the team has got a special session with former Indian hockey captain, Sandeep Singh.

Farhan Akhtar who is co-producing the movie along with Ritesh Sidhwani, updated about its commencement. This Reema Kagti’s directorial is set to hit the silver screens on August 15, 2018.
