Jacqueline said in a statement, "I just think that film is a form of art and everyone has the freedom of speech. Everyone has the freedom to make what they want to make, if people do not like or have issue with, then they don't need to watch it. I just feel that violence is a complete no. It's a very wrong thing to do. There are better ways to solve issues."

The film’s lead stars Shahid also clarified the rumors along with Bhansali. Shahid said, "I've been saying this for a long time now. Watch the film and then decide. Give the film a chance and don't form preconceived notions."

"We have tried to keep everyone's feelings and interests in mind. We have tried to make the film as best as we could. We will respect whatever people think of the film but you should see it first," the actor added.

Padmavati is based on Queen Padmini of Chittorgarh played by Deepika Padukone . Shahid Kapoor essays Raja Ratan Singh while Ranveer Singh plays Allaudin Khilji. The film has been scheduled to release on December 1.
