Katrina Kaif might be paired with Ranveer Singh, in Kabir Khan’s upcoming sports biopic!
Before finalizing the rest of the casting, Kabir Khan is considering Katrina Kaif plays the role of Romi Devi in the sport-flick!

The buzz for director Kabir Khan ’s upcoming biopic based on the life of Kapil Dev and recreating the momentous victory of Indian cricket team in the World Cup 1983 is slowly gaining momentum. The announcement about Ranveer Singh playing a pivotal character in the film made a good start to the project! Although, the casting for the rest of the team is still in the process, as per the updates, Katrina Kaif is being considered to play the role of Romi Devi, the wife of Kapil Dev in this sports biopic!
As per the sources close to the production house, “So far, Kabir has not locked the lead actress. Two other actresses have been finalized, one is a newcomer and another has been suggested by Ranveer. If Katrina comes on board, it will be her first film opposite Ranveer.” The character of Romi Devi is pivotal to the storyline as it is quite a well-known fact that his wife plays as a support system in player’s life and Kapil Dev also mentioned many instances from their married life, which clearly signifies how much importance the character has, even for a film based on the sports event.
As per the speculation goes, Katrina is most likely to be cast for the role considering her association with director Kabir Khan with the films like New York , Ek Tha Tiger and Phantom and more star-power to the project would eventually benefit for the marketing aspect of the film. Plus, everyone would love to see on-screen pairing of Katrina Kaif and Ranveer Singh in a film!
