Abhishek Chaubey’s upcoming dacoit film is quite in the talks. While Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar were announced as the leads of the film, the news in the air that says, we will see Manoj Bajpayee too in a pivotal role. Manoj confirmed the news stating, "Yes, that’s true though we are yet to zero in on a name for my character. I always wanted to work with Abhishek as I’m a huge admirer of his work. I have seen all his films, from ‘Ishqiya’ and ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ to ‘Udta Punjab’. He picks his stories from rural or semi-urban areas and weaves them beautifully. When I got a chance to be a part of his story-telling, I couldn’t turn it down. For me, this film is not so much about the role as it is about working with Abhishek Chaubey."
The film is supposed to go on the floors from early January and Manoj will start shooting from mid-February of 2018. As the story of the film revolves mainly around Chambal district and northern parts of India, the actor will also start learning the Bundelkhandi dialect for the film.
Bhumi, the female lead, who will be reaching the film’s location a month prior to get into the skin of the character, shares “I have never really chased a 'breaking that mould'... I am not an actor who sees that now I will do romantic, urban, thriller films. I am not that sort of an actor. I purely go by my instinct when I read a script." The actress further added, "I literally chase characters and I know that it (Chambal) is going to be challenging and is a tough film for me as well. I am very thrilled about doing this."
