The problem of gender discrimination and rape is a curse that is prevalent in our society since ages. Time and again girls are put down upon and are violated. The latest research on the sex ratio shows that there are only 900 girls to 1000 boys! The number is very serious, over 3,30,000 girls never get to born in India simply because they are girls, says the new video by MARD Official, a social initiative campaign which has seen the support of multiple Bollywood stars. This initiative is founded by the multi-talented star Farhan Akhtar .

Bollywood celebs like Salim Merchant, Vidya Balan , Shah Rukh Khan , Aditi Rao Hydari, Tennis star Sania Mirza, Riteish Deshmukh, Alia Bhatt and others have come out in support of this campaign. On the occasion of Father’s Day, Farhan Akhtar’s MARD Official released a short video film featuring Vidya Balan and her father. The video showcases the beauty of father-daughter relationships and how girls can prove themselves if given the support that they deserve.

Recently, a new video film featuring Sania Mirza and her father Imran Mirza has been released. It is a wonderful video that gives hope and a powerful message. If all the parents adopt such a thought process then no girl will be ill-treated or will have to face discrimination in her own house. Watch it here:
