Padmavati is 95% complete, set to release on scheduled date!

There have been rumours and speculations about Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s upcoming film Padmavati . The movie has faced a lot of obstacles while its ongoing shooting due to the sensitive subject of the plot. The shooting has been disrupted first in Rajasthan and later in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Also, the sets and the equipments of the movie are magnificent considering it to be a period and royal film. Recently, the film faced another issue which disturbed its shooting hence there was news about its possible delay came in.

But, according to the latest update, the movie is very much on schedule and has completed 95% of its filming. It stars a stellar cast featuring Deepika Padukone , Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in key roles. The movie also has Aditi Rao Hydari in an important extended cameo.

A source close to the film revealed, “Wishful thinking on the part of those who hope to jump in with their own films on November 17. They are very much on schedule. In fact, they would have completed the film had Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone not chosen to go away on their family vacations just when the last lap of the shooting remained.”

“But Shahid and Deepika insisted on taking their holiday now. However, Padmavati is 95 percent complete. Only some scenes remain. There’s no way the film won’t release on time,” the source added.

Talking about the release, the source said, “Padmavati will get thrice the number of screens allotted to Viacom 18’s last release Toilet – Ek Prem Katha. In fact, it will get the biggest release ever given to a Bollywood film.”

Ranveer will be seen essaying the role of the medieval-era Delhi ruler Alauddin Khilji. Deepika plays the title role of Queen Padmavati. Shahid Kapoor renders the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh of Mewar, who is the husband of the Queen Padmavati. Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, the period-drama Padmavati hits the screens on November 17, 2017.
