‘Padmavati’ will not hit the big screens on 1st December!

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ has been postponed to a future date, confirms Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

‘Padmavati’ will not hit the big screens on 1st December!

Amidst the controversy and tension building around the film, the makers of Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s ‘ Padmavati ’ have pushed the release of the film to a later date. Initially, the film was slated to release on 1st December 2017, but now, Viacom18 Motion Pictures has postponed the release date and confirmed the news on Twitter.

The official announcement states that the release date of the much-awaited film has been changed and the makers will reveal the revised date soon. So now, the fans have to wait a little more to witness the magnum opus on the big screen. Here is the official announcement by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures:

Responding to the controversy, Deepika Padukone , who’s portraying Rani Padmini’s character in the film, says, “As a woman, as an artiste, as someone who has worked and given two years of my life to this movie, I feel hurt, I feel angry, but I also think it is extremely funny that people are reacting like this to a film. I am feeling so many emotions at this point."

While the actors and Sanjay himself have confirmed that there’s nothing in the film that will hurt the Rajput sentiments, but the tension around forced the makers to postpone the release of the film. Though the new release date is not been disclosed, it’s for sure that the film will not hit the screens on 1st December.
