Saif to play a Pakistani guy opposite Ileana D’Cruz in Uzma Ahmed’s biopic?
Saif Ali Khan might be seen portraying the role of Pakistani guy in Uzma Ahmed’s biopic, whom Uzma fell in love with.
Yesterday BollywoodMDB informed its readers that Ileana D’Cruz might be seen in Shivam Nair’s next, playing Uzma Ahmed in her biopic. The film is about an Indian national who falls in love with a Pakistani man. Though Nair revealed that he wants Ileana in his film, the male lead and other casts are yet not decided. Now as per reports, Saif Ali Khan is being considered for the role of the Pakistani guy, who Uzma fell in love with. If rumours are to be believed, Saif has been approached to play the male lead. Talking about it, Nair stated to a leading daily, "Yes, we are in talks with Saif. We are in the final stages of scripting and then, we will take the final call. Saif will be the main male lead if he says yes."
The director further said, "Along with Uzma’s story, our story is also about a diplomat in the Indian embassy and the Union Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj. The character is of an Indian diplomat who’s there in Pakistan, and how he handles the whole case. When the girl is inside the Embassy, he is the one helping and taking care of her. We only know about Uzma and her story. People don’t know much about the role of this diplomat."
Nair also said, "It’s a positive role. That’s the major part of the story. The diplomat and the girl (to be rescued) are the lead roles." Nair further added that it was Kunal Kemmu, who suggested Saif’s name for the film, and he was the one who depicted the script and story of the film to Saif.
