Soon will arrive a tale based on the voyage from India to Canada aboard the Komagata Maru. This true story will unveil the events happening in this journey, which brought a forever change in Canada's immigration policies. Going by the report, this film titled Lions Of The Sea will be the joint production venture of Salman Khan Films and First Take Entertainment.

This heart wrenching story of 376 Indian passengers who were in search of opportunities in life and embarked on this dark journey is set in 1914. Talking about this, Salman Khan stated "SKF is delighted to join hands with with First Take and participate in telling the story of the Komagata Maru incident. Lions Of The Sea is the film based on true incident where which depicts the heroism of all who were on board and challenged the racial policies of the British Empire."

"It is imperative to tell this story as it mirrors the current global refugee crisis. Lions Of The Sea will allow us embrace multiculturalism, diversity and bring humanity closer together," said Salman.

Lions Of The Sea will feature Irrfan Khan in lead role and will have an ensemble cast. This first movie to produce under the India-Canada co-production treaty, it will be shot in India, Hong Kong, UK and Canada.
