Shah Rukh is in no mood of remaking R Madhavan’s ‘Vikram Vedha’!

In July 2017, R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi gave us the super hit Tamil language film, ‘Vikram Vedha’. The film was a neo-noir action crime thriller, written and directed by Pushkar and Gayathri. ‘Vikram Vedha’ was appreciated by masses as well as classes. Reports suggested that Shah Rukh Khan was keen on producing and acting in R Madhavan 's Vikram Vedha. However, it is now believed that SRK has dropped the plan to remake the film. A source informed a leading daily, “R Madhavan, who acted in Vikram Vedha, brought the film to Shah Rukh, who initially seemed interested in remaking it. But currently, that plan has been put on the back burner. Shah Rukh isn’t remaking Vikram Vedha anymore.”

The story of the film revolves around a ruthless police officer and a goon, which has a tragic climax. The movie was so much loved by the masses that, Pushkar and Gayathri revealed there had been demand from the public for a sequel. Before the release of the film, Madhavan also expressed an interest in remaking the film in Hindi with adaptations made to the film's setting.

Revealing the actual reason behind SRK’s leaving the project, the source further added, “There were two things. Although Shah Rukh loved the film, it’s an extremely layered and risky project to be made in Hindi. Plus, since SRK wanted to play the gangster who eventually turns out to be a hero, the space is very similar to his ‘Fan’ where you end up sympathising with the film’s villain. So, at least for now, Shah Rukh is not remaking it.”

Well, we in our opinion think that it might be a loss to Bollywood; ‘Vikram Vedha’ is a film which needs to be showcased. We can just wait to see if this cult fiom ever gets a Hindi remake or not.
