Shoojit Sircar expressed his admiration for Satyajit Ray & hints about October!

Shoojit Sircar is one of those directors that know how to portray or better say paint ordinary life story into a heart-warming and content oriented film that goes great with the audience too! And as an artist has their one inspirational figure Shoojit also owes a lot to his idol Indian cinematic legend Satyajit Ray . And while speaking to Mid-Day , about his upcoming film, October , starring Varun Dhawan, Shoojit revealed the film October will be his tribute to Satyajit Ray and even admited the fact that the film will also have brand Satyajit Ray elements in the film, which ultimately makes us anticipate about how the movie would be!

Speaking more about his admiration for Satyajit Ray , “Ray is a big influence in my life. One must go through his work to grasp the nuances of cinema. So when I sit down to write my films, I take inspiration from Ray's writing and movies. The same was true in the case of October as well. And when being asked about how October would be in terms of story line, he replied “October is an unusual slice-of-life story yet again! And like my previous work, this one, too, is an experiment. We are setting it in Delhi because that's the world I understand well. It's a coming-of-age story and completely character-driven.”

And for those who were hoping to see Deepika Padukone and Varun Dhawan cast against each other, as most of the tabloid were gushing about the news, to which Shoojit himself clarified, “The female cast is yet to be locked in!” it would be have been also interesting to see Deepika-Shoojit’ re-collaboration after great success of the film Piku.
