Sonu Nigam all set to face camera

The iconic singer Sonu Nigam is geared to face the camera once again. He will star in Akashdeep's upcoming directorial venture. The film is in scripting phase now.

The versatile singer Sonu Nigam tried his hands on acting before some years ago. He acted in the films like ' Jaani Dushman ' (2002) and ' Love in Nepal '. However, after the failure of the film ' Love in Nepal ', Sonu preferred to stay away from the camera, although he continued to get multiple acting offers. And now, the crooner has pulled up his socks to once again step into acting.

Considering the latest reports, Sonu Nigam is soon to going to star in Akashdeep 's forthcoming directorial venture. The director said that the film will speak about two guys, who arrive in Mumbai from a different country. The film depicts the incidents happening with those guys in the next seventy days. The script will be completed in two months and may hit the floors around May-June. A huge chunk of this flick will be filmed in Mumbai and the remaining part will be shot abroad, as per the reports.

In the meanwhile, the director Akashdeep made Sonu to sing a crunchy number for his upcoming film 'Santa Banta Pvt. Ltd'. And at this time, the director achieved a 'yes' from Sonu to star in a film. The director Akashdeep attested this piece of news update by mentioning that "It's sung during a Diwali party on a cruise ship in Fiji. Noticing how comfortable Sonu was in front of the camera, his co-actors, including Boman Irani and Neha Dhupia , told him that he should start acting again," The director further added that "He was instantly hooked and gave his nod about 15 days ago. Now the final script is being written by a Delhi playwright. Saeed Alam, keeping Sonu in mind,"

Akashdeep revealed his idea of casting Sonu for this role, by saying that "The reason I knew he was perfect for the role is because both characters are constantly humming. Though not a musical, songs and music are an integral part of the script and such harkats cannot be dubbed,"
