Bollywood is known for its fun entertainment, which is heavily dominated by masala films. But Bollywood has also produced some of the ace filmmakers, who are known for the hard-hitting films they make, which can have the capability to question viewer’s perspective. Madhur Bhandarkar is such director who has long list of films that touches and comments on many social elements. And after much anticipations and constantly being teased and introduced to the pivotal character of the film, the first trailer for Madhur Bhandarkar ’s Indu Sarkar is out and it is intriguing, epic and gripping for sure!

The story line of Indu Sarkar revolves around, Indira Gandhi governance announced State of Emergency 1975, which lasted for 21 months and its effect on normal citizens living in India. It shares a strong point of view from the perspective of a mother, who is struggling to live a normal life and her journey which led her to take some rebellious stands and do the unthinkable. The trailer perpetually gets the message across about how a wrong political decision can withdraw many collateral side-effects and annihilate someone’s life.

The cast includes Kirti Kulhari , who completely dominates the screen despite her character having a disability to stammer, Neil Nitin Mukesh in the most negative role he ever played, Anupam Kher, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Parvin Dabas, Sheeba Chaddha and also Zakir Hussain. Despite directing the film, Madhur Bhandarkar is also producing this film in association with Bharat Shah. Indu Sarkar will be in theaters on 28th July 2017!
