Trailer of Secret Superstar: Hope, Dreams, Aspiration & Music!

It’s been quite a while, since Aamir Khan Production released a teaser for their upcoming film Secret Superstar , and anticipation of the film was building up. And why should not? It was the second time Aamir playing a second lead in the ‘coming of age’ teenage drama film, after Taare Zameen Par . And finally yesterday, in one press meeting in PVR Juhu-Mumbai, Aamir Khan , Kiran Rao and rest of the team unveiled the first trailer of Secret Superstar ! And by the first impression of below trailer, it looks fresh and inspirational for sure!

Secret Superstar is the story of Insia, a 14yr girl from Baroda, who aspires to become a well-known singer and wished to pursue her dreams at any efforts it takes. But the main blockage to her dreams is her father, who is not only refusing to support her dreams but even demoralize her to make any efforts. Hence the film would depict Insia’ journey for failed teenager to ambitious and aspiring rock-star! Indeed, the narration would keep you intact as how Insia approaches her path without letting her father know about her YouTube sensation and bulk appreciation she received for her talent.

Aamir Khan knows how to surprise not only his fans but Bollywood buffs in general. Like no one would ever saw it coming how the character of Shakti Kumar, a Bollywood music composer, who is loud in his appearance and bit obnoxious in behavior, is in search of next big talent in the country. And Aamir being Aamir as we know, pretty much nailed it! But despite her second film, and that too with Aamir, Zaira Wasim shines in the character of Insia and portrayed the shade of succumbing and inhibition a teenager would feel when their dreams we brutally shattered by her own father. And it would be interesting to see her performance in the film!

As for the film Secret Superstar , it is directed by Advait Chandan who have assisted Kiran Rao in Dhobi Ghat and the and casting for this film also includes Meher Vij and Raj Arjun as parents of Insia. The film will be scheduled to be released on Diwali on 19th Oct!
