Akshay Kumar ’s PadMan is his wife, author and former actress Twinkle Khanna’s first production under the banner Mrs Funnybones. The film has been in news for all the right reasons. The latest development in the film claims that Amitabh Bachchan is set to have a cameo role in the upcoming film.
It is a known fact that director R. Balki shares a great relationship with the veteran star and makes him a part of his every film. So, PadMan is no exception. Big B shared the news on his blog on Saturday. As per the news, Sr. Bachchan will play himself in the film.
Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his blog: “R. Balki shoots a film with Akshay Kumar and Sonam at the IIT Delhi, one of the most prestigious institutes of the world reckoning and wishes that I make a small appearance as myself for a few shots.”
He also wrote about the director: “Balki does carry his sincerity at every step of his creativity and must have my presence in some form or another, and so here I am.”
The film also stars Sonam Kapoor who plays a Tabla Player and Radhika Apte who essays Akshay’s wife in the drama. PadMan is based on the incredible true story of social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham, who worked for making sanitary napkins available at low cost for rural women. He was awarded Padma Shri last year by the Government of India and was placed in TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2014.
