Batti Gul Meter Chalu is Yami Gautam’s first collaboration with Prernaa Arora and she will be seen playing a lawyer in it.

Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu is one of the most awaited projects of 2018 and a few days ago it had finally gone on floors. The movie is directed by Shree Narayan Singh of T oilet: Ek Prem Katha fame and it also features Yami Gautam as the third lead. This is the first ever collaboration between Yami and Prernaa Arora ’s KriArj Entertainment and the actress says the film is entertaining and has a lot of substance.
Speaking with a leading daily, the 29-year-old actress said, “I think it is very interesting, quirky, entertaining and has a lot of substance at the same time. I am extremely happy to be working with the team. I play a lawyer in a film for the first time. So, I am very happy,” she said.
The film deals with the issue of uncertainty of electricity in small towns of India. As the film is helmed by Shree Narayan, the actress stressed that Batti Gul will be a mixture of entertainment and social message. She concluded saying, “Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a social drama on the electricity issue faced by people in the country, especially in small towns and given the kind of films that producer Prernaa Arora has been doing and what Shree Narayan Singh has done with Toilet: Ek Prem Katha“… you can expect a very fine amalgamation of entertainment and a relevant social issue which has been talked about for the very first time.”
The film will be shot out and out in Uttarakhand and it is scheduled to hit the big screen on 31st August 2018.
