Zoya Akhtar to kick-start Gully Boy, featuring Ranveer-Alia, this month!
Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are teaming up for the very first time in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy.

Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar is all set to commence shooting for her forthcoming film Gully Boy , featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. While she has previously worked with Ranveer in her last directorial, Dil Dhadkne Do, it is the first time she is collaborating with Alia Bhatt . On the other hand, Ranveer and Alia are also joining hands for the first time in Zoya Akhtar 's film which is based on the lives of street rappers. Everyone associated with the movie has started their preparations as Gully Boy goes on floors this month.
Confirming the shooting schedule, Ranveer revealed to a leading daily, "In January itself, I start Gully Boy for which I collaborate with Zoya, who is very dear and special in my life as a collaborator, person as well as a director."
The actor is also excited about working with Alia Bhatt . It will be his first film with the diva. "Also, it’s my first collaboration on a full-length feature film with Alia [Bhatt], who I rate very high as an actor. She is certainly among the best actors in today’s day-and-age. I believe she is on her way towards greatness."
Meanwhile, Ranveer is awaiting the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali 's Padmavat , also starring Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone .
