Actor Ankit Siwach, who is all set to enter showbiz with his upcoming show Rishton ka Chakravyuh, is quite excited about his debut show. The actor says that he realised that he wanted to be part of the entertainment world during his college days and has been following his passion since then. "I am from Meerut and moved to Delhi for graduation. This was a paradigm shift and a cultural shock for me as this move exposed me to the global student strength in one university. I worked part time along with college and saved some money for my first modelling portfolio in 2009. Unknowingly, the journey had started taking shape by then. My interest in acting started showing up when I made friends with theatre actors in Delhi, which made me lose interest in modelling, which I had just started back then. Amidst this confusion, I landed in Amity Noida for MBA," he says, adding, "During this phase, I realised my calling and I sealed my destiny by not sitting in the campus placements, even though I had interned with the Indian Oil Corporation."

Ankit moved to Pune next in order to pursue his dreams. "With no professional experience or education in the field of filmmaking and acting and no clarity as to how to go about things, I packed my bags, told my family that I am moving to Pune for a job. While working as an HR personnel at an MNC, I started auditioning for whatever acting jobs that came up," says Ankit.

It took Ankit some time to tell his family about his career decision. "After a year, I broke this news to my family that I was actually looking to enter the industry. I worked as an AD with Tanuja Chandra ma’am and Faraz Ansari for a short feature film. This was as good as a crash course and I got to know the nuances of filmmaking and the hard work in entails. All I can say is this was the time I fell in love the profession," he says.

After this, Ankit got into casting for projects with one of his friends. "In 2016, my close friend Kavish Sinha started a casting firm called Onmykayroll, which I became a part of. I worked with him for a good eight months. This process of being behind the camera and watching actors perform was building a newer me with every passing day. From casting real life characters for National Geographic to actors for a couple of big films, web series, TV commercials, I now had some clarity about the dynamics of our industry was in love with the process," he says, adding, "I took some acting workshops with Neeraj Kabi sir, worked in commercials for brands like Hotstar, Tictac. I performed and worked backstage for a couple of plays for Extempore theatre group and got to learn much from brilliant artists like Heeba Shah and Jeetu Shastri, who were a part of it."

Ankit, who was also a state level volleyball player in college, was always interested in sports, too. He followed up on that as well "Being a sportsman, the fire never died and I started with gymnastics again, not caring about how much my body had changed since college. I met with an accident and broke both my legs and had to go through a couple of surgeries. I was in bed for 3 months and luckily got to spend that time with my family back home," he says, "It had been three years in Mumbai at that time and things were not shaping up as I wanted them to. When I was at home, I remember being confused about whether I should just move back home and start a business, or go back to Mumbai to pursue my acting career."

It was when he returned that he was offered Rishton Ka Chakravyuh. "It was 6th March 2017, when I came back to Mumbai after a long unhealthy break of four months and I called Kavish to audition me for any character that would be open then. I just wanted to face the camera and see if I still had it in me. It was 9th of March that I auditioned for a role that I never knew was seeking me. The next day I got a call that I had been shortlisted for this Big Star Plus show coming up and Adhiraj happened to me," he says.

Talking about his role, he says, "I play Adhiraj, a no nonsense CBI officer who goes by the book and still loves taking things into his own hands as and when he feels like. He is firm, focussed, and doesn’t care who stands opposite him. With his action packed career as a CBI cop, there is a fast paced and a thrilling emotional roller coaster that he rides on. He stays with his father and sister, and has a very strong bond with them."
