Did Sony TV pull Pehredaar Piya Ki off air from 28th August!

There hasn’t been any daily soup opera on the Indian television that has faced so much resistance from the viewers and being subject to the nationwide controversy and debates. The team of Pehredaar Piya Ki already went through a lot; and now the show has been pulled off air by Sony TV from yesterday, 28th August! And the news went haywire! Although none of the members of the crew or cast have confirmed the news, eventually this could be a sigh of relief for those who were appealing to ban the serial on Sony TV.

The rounds of controversy was kicked off from the day trailer of the serial was released and upon few early episodes the serial and its content became a point of debate all over the country and many of the offended people raised an online petition to ban the serial from the TV, which was later forwarded by Smriti Irani to Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC)!

It was somehow bound to cause such stir, as, the storyline goes circumstances force a girl to look after the royal clan's 10-year-old prince. And the things take a turn when the young boy falls in love with his keeper and that’s the moment most of the audience member thing it is downright creepy and kind of pedophilic to show such weird chemistry. To their defense, the makers made it clear that it was one tradition that used to exist in the past and we just shown its rendition.

Although, BCCC has suggested some guidelines to prevent heat from the viewers and even creator team also come up with a make-a-shift solution on it but this step from the Sony TV was a serious blow to the serial makers!
