Aamir Khan took a ten-days leave while filming Fanaa; here’s why

Aamir Khan caused quite a stir in July 2021 when he announced his divorce from Kiran Rao. The news came as a shock to their fans, as they appeared to be the perfect couple. Both married in Panchgani on December 28, 2005, and although being a low-key wedding, it was widely reported by the media.

Interestingly, at the time, Aamir was filming Fanaa (2006). Filmmaker Kunal Kohli recounted an incident that was previously unknown to the public to commemorate the film's 16th anniversary.

The director recalled a hilarious incident from the set of Fanaa, saying that the shoot took place from October 2005 to March 2006 and that while preparing the schedule in May or June 2005, Aamir Khan requested a 10-day leave from December 23rd to January 3rd, 2006.

The actor told Kunal that he was getting married to Kiran Rao and that was the reason for his unavailability. Aamir told him not to tell anyone about the same. When he objected that producer Aditya Chopra should be informed, Aamir asked him not to because that's how the news got out and assured him that he could shoot whenever he wanted outside of these 10 days.

Aamir and Kajol collaborated in Kunal Kohli's Fanaa. The film turned out to be a box office hit when it was released on May 26, 2006.
