As Sidharth Malhotra marks 10 years in Bollywood, the actor talks about being an outsider and his extreme journey in the industry

One of the most talented and wanted actors working in Bollywood now is Sidharth Malhotra. He made his acting debut in Student of The Year by Karan Johar, and he hasn't looked back since. In the roughly ten years of his career, Sidharth has been in a number of well-known films, including Kapoor & Sons, Marjaavaan, Ek Villain, Hasee Toh Phasee, and Baar Baar Dekho. This year the actor who celebrates ten years in Bollywood spoke about his extreme journey from a non-filmy background.

Sidharth started off by saying, "I think people need to see your journey from a holistic point of view as to where you started off and where you are today,” He continued by saying that his entry into the industry had been extremely difficult given that he had no prior film experience and had to work for the previous ten years while entertaining people in a variety of roles. Sid also discussed his professional trajectory, saying that it was just intended to demonstrate by his deeds to the public that everything is possible for those who put their minds to it.

"Eventually, you have to live with your gut instincts and your dedication, and your obsession about one particular field while trying to achieve it. I’m a prime example of that and I hope that youngsters will take inspiration from it.” He claimed that he still had a long way to go before earning the title of "icon," as it was still a little early for him to become one in his area.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sidharth Malhotra will soon be seen in Thank God, Mission Majnu opposite Rashmika Mandanna, and Yodha starring Rashi Khanna and Disha Patani. He will also be making his web series debut with Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force in the pipeline.
