Farah Khan prefers breaking plates than hearts as she experiences the Greek plate-smashing tradition with her children

Choreographer and Director Farah Khan have completed decades in the industry. She started out as an assistant and background dancer. In 2004 she made her directorial debut with the film ‘Main Hoon Na’. She then went on to make films like ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Tees Maar Khan’, and ‘Happy New Year’.
The filmmaker has also an active social media presence where she shared several insights into her life. Recently she shared a video of herself and three children Czar, Diva and Anya. They were smashing plates at a restaurant. The plate smashing is part of a Greek custom where they break glass or plates on good occasions. She captioned the video, “Better break plates than hearts... (who will clean the mess tho?) #kidsnightout #greektradition.”
Farah Khan’s directorial debut was with Shah Rukh Khan, Suneil Shetty and Sushmita Sen in 2004. She then went on to direct the film Om Shanti Om, Tees Maar Khan and Happy New Year. In her career, she has also hosted a talk show titled ‘Tere Mere Beech Mein’. She even judges reality television shows like ‘Indian Idol’ in the first and second seasons ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star’, ‘Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega’ and ’Dance India Dance Li'l Masters’.
