Malaika Arora was recently photographed at the Miss India Beauty Pageant. The Bollywood personality wore a sheer gown with a plunging neckline and long tail. The tail of the gown was quite iconic and needed its own assistants for being placed well for photographs.
Malaika looked stunning in the couture piece that she carried gracefully. She elevated the look with jewellery and let her hair down. Soon after the photos made their way to the internet, the fashionista was trolled for the ensemble. Many social media users took to the comments sections, to voice out how displeased they were with the length of the neckline and several pounced on the visibility of her garments. The trollers like always were harsh and critical. What was unique to see was how several users defended Malaika. Saying if the same is worn in a Hollywood event no one would bat an eye. Malaika who is often subjected to trollers has voiced how she is no longer bothered and that the same people love celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian but if she were to wear the same it would not be appreciated.
This does speak to the prejudice and backward thinking many have when it comes to women's fashion. Is it really okay to advise people about their undergarments? Can style ever really be personal?
