On Thursday, April 20, Twitter deleted historically verified blue ticks from all accounts. Many prominent Indians, including Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, have lost blue checks that helped validate their identities and identify them from imposters on the microblogging platform.

Twitter started removing the blue checks from accounts that don't pay a monthly charge to keep them on Thursday. Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn. And sports celebrities MS Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma have all lost their blue ticks. It's kind of amusing because all fan clubs have blue ticks.

Elon Musk wants to monetize Twitter by charging celebrities for the blue tick. But it appears that none of our prominent Bollywood stars are interested. Nobody has a blue tick. However, it is remarkable to see all major fan bases with the blue tick. Even American celebrities, such as Ben Stiller, have had their blue ticks removed.

Blue subscription prices vary depending on the market. In India, the subscription costs Rs 900 per month via iPhones and Android handsets. On the Twitter website, the price drops to Rs 650 per month. Users can also choose a yearly subscription, which is less expensive.

Many government entities, nonprofits, and public-service accounts around the world were no longer verified, in addition to journalists and celebrities. This has generated concerns that Twitter's standing as a medium for obtaining reliable, up-to-date information from credible sources, including in emergencies, may be jeopardised.

Twitter has also established guidelines for profile verification. Twitter, for example, states that an account must have been active in the previous 30 days in order to subscribe to Twitter Blue. The account must also show no signs of being misleading or deceitful. Furthermore, only individuals with a verified mobile number can receive the blue tick on the platform.

Fans are having a blast discussing this on social media. For a while, the Korean pop band BTS was also unconfirmed. But it appears that our celebrities are unwilling to pay or do not consider it important.
