Shah Rukh Khan confirms Nayanthara is his leading lady in Jawan

Since it was announced, there has been much speculation around the possibility of Nayanthara starring as Shah Rukh Khan's leading lady in the film Jawan. Jawan, directed by Atlee, is Shah Rukh Khan's first pan-Indian film. Fans were thrilled by the first glimpse after the star shared the teaser earlier this year.

Atlee and Shah Rukh later accompanied the director Vignesh Shivan at Nayanthara's wedding, sort of hinting that the actress will star opposite SRK in Atlee's multilingual movie.

However, there were no official statements made by the makers. Shah Rukh revealed on Saturday that Nayanthara will play the lead in the film. On Instagram live, Shah Rukh talked about Jawan. He stated without providing many additional details that ‘Nayanthara Ji’ is in it.

King Khan also previously said to a news portal, “Too early to say. There is still a long way to go. There is not much I can tell you about Jawan except the fact that I am having a great time as an actor. And Atlee, the director, it is a different kind of film. Everybody has seen his work. He makes outstanding mass-oriented films, again a genre I have never done. So, I wanted to try my hands on it. And I think me and Atlee have good chemistry. I bring in some (to the film), he brings in some. Whatever we have done of Jawan is thrilling and exciting.”

Jawan is slated to release in 2023.
