The Archies: There’s a Sridevi connection in Khushi Kapoor taking up acting, reveals Boney Kapoor

The Archies, directed by Zoya Akhtar, marks the debut of three Bollywood star kids - Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan, Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda, and Boney Kapoor's daughter Khushi Kapoor.

Celebrities have been recalling how The Archies influenced their lives since the film's announcement. While Amitabh Bachchan described Agastya's debut as "another SONrise" in the family, Shah Rukh Khan gave his daughter the loveliest message. Boney Kapoor recently talked about The Archies in an interview.

The filmmaker said the film is the ideal debut for not only his daughter but also other young actors. He said, "It is a dream project because the target audience of films these days is the youth. Young audiences are basically movie buffs. This film also has the advantage of taking the older generation audiences on a nostalgic trip, because all of us have been big fans of Archie. It is a double whammy. The youngsters in any case will revel in the iconic world of The Archies."

When questioned if Khushi had always wanted to be an actress and follow in the footsteps of her late mother, Sridevi, Boney explained that youngsters don't always know what they want from the start. He claims that as they reach the age of 19-20, they have a strong idea of who they want to be.

He continued, "Who doesn’t like glamour? Who doesn’t like getting attention? Everyone in the world likes it whether it is in the entertainment field, academic field or sports world."

Boney Kapoor claimed that Khushi expressed her ambition to be an actor and pursue study overseas when her elder sister Janhvi Kapoor began shooting for Dhadak in 2018.

He concluded by saying, "That’s why we sent her to New York Film School in 2019. If Sridevi was around, she would have supported her like she supported Janhvi.”
