Deepika Padukone talks about encountering racial stereotyping in Hollywood

At the moment, Deepika Padukone is attending Paris Fashion Week. She is the only well-known Indian to have represented her nation there. She has been rubbing elbows with stars like Alicia Vikander and Ana de Armas, among others. Deepika fearlessly called out Hollywood's racial stereotypes and how the West views outsiders during her engagement at the event.
In the interview, Deepika admitted that being on the receiving end of some things that had been said and done used to irritate her every time she traveled to the US. She also discussed why she didn't act in any more international films following her successful Hollywood debut in xXx: Return of Xander Cage with Vin Diesel.
Deepika remembered her encounter with a Hollywood actor but declined to identify the person. I recognize this actor. When I first met him, he said, "Hey, by the way, you speak English extremely well," at this Vanity Fair party. Even I didn't understand what that meant. When I returned, I asked, "What do you mean you speak English exceptionally well?" She asked if he believed we couldn't communicate in English, as reported by Business of Fashion.

Deepika stated in her most recent Instagram posting, "There was a time when you could come [to India] and just sell whatever you wanted, and we'd buy it or believe in your ideas. But today we have an identity of our own, and we're extremely proud of all of our home-grown brands. It's not one India. It's many Indias. And as Indians, we're also extremely proud of our history, of our culture and of our heritage. The Indian consumer today cannot be taken for granted."
