Aanand L Rai’s romantic drama Atrangi Re wins big at IIFA 2022
Atrangi Re stars Akshay Kumar, Dhanush, and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles.

Directed by master storyteller Aanand L Rai, Atrangi Re (2021) smashed a series of records upon its direct-to-digital premiere on Disney+ Hotstar last year. Apart from its impeccable performances from Akshay Kumar, Dhanush, and Sara Ali Khan, the romantic fantasy drama won audiences’ hearts with its melodious music as well.
Composed by Oscar-winning music director A. R. Rahman, the album of Atrangi Re boasted of the best minds from the film industry. And it seems that the fever surrounding the music is never ending.
It has been raining awards for the music of Atrangi Re at IIFA 2022. While the legendary A. R. Rahman won ‘Best Background Score’, choreographer Vijay Ganguly, the man behind Sara Ali Khan's famous moves in ‘Chaka Chak’, recently took to his social media to share some happy news. He was awarded the IIFA Award - 'Best Choreography' for ‘Chaka Chak’ at the 22nd edition of the event, which will be held in Abu Dhabi.
Ganguly took to his Instagram handle and wrote, "And this happened!! Happiest to share it with you all!!! IIFA #2! 'Thank you' alert." In his thank you message, he expressed gratitude to ace filmmaker Aanand L Rai for trusting him with Chaka Chak and giving him something so special.
Atrangi Re, which is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, is bankrolled by Gulshan Kumar’s T-Series Films, Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions, and Akshay Kumar’s Cape Of Good Films.
