Janhvi Kapoor speaks about her upcoming film saying, ‘Good Luck Jerry was a very new space for me’

One of the most adored actresses of the modern generation is Janhvi Kapoor. She has consistently shown that she is a credible actress. With the variety of roles she has played up to this point and the name she has made for herself, it is obvious that Janhvi is here to stay. The Roohi actress is currently preparing for the premiere of her new movie Good Luck Jerry and is doing everything in her capacity to promote it. Good Luck Jerry is the remake of the 2018 Tamil film Kolamaavu Kokila, starring Nayanthara and Yogi Babu.

In a recent interview, the actress spoke about the film and her character saying, “I saw the original film and thought it was cool and funny. I’m a big fan of Nayanthara and Yogi Babu. Nayanthara was just fierce in the film. I thought Good Luck Jerry was a very new space for me. People have kind of mentally put me in this box of bholi si hai, shaant, and bechari (innocent, quiet, helpless). Maybe it’s the energy I give out. It’s also probably because of the films I’ve done.”

Further talking about Good Luck Jerry being the same yet different from the original story, the Dhadak actress revealed, “Ours is a completely different film in terms of the story and even in terms of characters. I saw the original once, understood the flavor, and then tried to find Jerry. She (the character) is different here, in the sense that she finds herself a little bit more at the end and turns into a less apologetic person. Or at least in my head that was a very conscious thought that I wanted to create.”

On July 29, Good Luck Jerry will be made available on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar. In addition to this, Janhvi will appear in Boney Kapoor's Mili, a remake of the Malayalam movie Helen. She will work once again with Rajkummar Rao in Mr. and Mrs. Mahi. With Varun Dhawan, Janhvi is collaborating on Nitesh Tiwari's Bawaal.
