Ali Abbas Zafar pulled off a casting coup by bringing on board two action stars, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, for an action-packed thriller. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, a Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani production, is set to begin filming by the end of this year for a Christmas 2023 official launch. It's one of the most expensive action movies of next year, with an estimated budget of Rs 300 crore.

A source revealed “Ali Abbas Zafar and his creative team are planning to mount this as one of the biggest action thrillers of Bollywood. The production cost for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will be around Rs 120 crore, which is the highest ever for an Akshay Kumar film till date. Ali is working on the pre-production right now, designing the stunt scenes keeping the capabilities of Akshay and Tiger in mind.” Most Akshay Kumar films made in the last two years, as well as those in the works, have a COP in the range of Rs 35 to 60 crore (excluding his fees), and BMCM is nearly three times higher than those in the works.

The source further added “There is a talk about the film being a remake of the 1999 original fronted by Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda, but that’s not the case as Ali has written a complete new script.” While the production costs around Rs 120 crore, the two actors and director each earn around Rs 200 to 210 crore in fees. A significant portion of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will be captured in London.

BMCM's total budget, including marketing costs, will be in the sum of Rs 350 crore, which is one of the highest ever for a Bollywood movie. The year 2023 will be a treat for action fans, with Shah Rukh Khan kicking off the year with the Sidharth Anand-directed Pathan, followed by Salman Khan's mega-budget franchise, Tiger, on Eid. In October, Hrithik Roshan returns to the action genre with Fighter, and the year concluded with Akshay and Tiger in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. There is a good chance that Ajay Devgn will take over as Bajirao Singham with Singham 3 on Independence Day weekend.
